At APSMRC we enjoy introducing or re-introducing our new members to the sport of rowing, as well as providing a fun and relaxed atmosphere.

is for those who have an affiliation with the club but neither row nor use the gym.

How to become a member


Membership application steps:

Step1 - You will have either:
a) Successfully completed the APSMRC Learn-To-Row (L2R) program; OR

b) As an experienced rower you will have been assessed as safe and competent to row independently by one of our coaches; OR

c) Completed a similar program at a recognised club within past 12 months and been signed-off as safe and competent to row independently by one of our coaches.


Step 2 - Review Membership Fees 2025-26


Step 3 - Complete the membership application form.  Agree to the conditions of membership, and have it signed by the Head Coach or Club Captain.

Step 4 - Complete Rowing Victoria Insurance Indemnity Make sure you print your name at the top and sign at the bottom.

Step 5 - Submit the above forms to our club Secretary here.


When approved by committee, you will be requested to pay the required membership fees and charges. Once this is complete, you will receive a welcome pack and can commence your journey with rowing at APSMRC.



APSMRC Membership provides:

  • A fantastic friendly and active social environment
  • Use of boats, oars and rowing equipment (consistent with each Members competency and safety)
  • Unrestricted use of the club gym and indoor rowing equipment
  • Access to coaching
  • Rowing Victoria (RV) registration and insurance coverage – including the ability to compete at all state and national rowing regatta’s. Download here for information regarding insurance coverage for individual members and the club.
  • Unrestricted access to the club house, changerooms, showers and all club facilities via a door security code
  • Club sponsorship for all competing members attending one nominated regatta each year (determined annually by the Committee). This means all regatta seat fees are paid by the Club so Member participation in APSM crews is free
  • Heavily discounted fees for hire of the clubs Function Room for your private events
  • Attendance at club sponsored social events organised throughout the year
  • For Members wishing to store their private boat and oars at the Club, subject to availability, very reasonable boat racking fees.
