Albert Park Lake Regattas
Albert Park Lake hosts TWO regattas each year
1. The Albert Park Lake Masters Regatta
The Albert Park Lake Regatta is a masters regatta hosted by APSM, YWCA and the Melbourne Argonauts Rowing Clubs under the auspices of Rowing Victoria. It is held in April or May each year over a 1000m course which finishes at the northern end of the lake. Boats are launched from APSMRC and travel South towards the start line before racing to the Northern end..
2. Albert Park Lake Grand Prix
The Albert Park Grand Prix is an 8 km race which began in 2009 and is part of the Victorian Sculling Association’s Winter Sculling Series. It features a mass start and a starting grid with pole position awarded to the sculler judged to be fastest by the organizers. The race comprises two anti-clockwise laps of the lake.
