| Rowing is the ultimate team sport. It is a low impact, low injury and excellent aerobic sport suitable for all ages. It is also a lot of fun! The APSM Learn to Row course is four 1.5 hour sessions conducted over 4 weeks where you are taught the basics of rowing, the terminology, how to handle rowing equipment and be safe in a boat. Anyone may attend including juniors, students, young adults and older adults. The course is conducted out of the APSM rowing shed on Albert Park Lake. Prerequisites for Learn to Row:
Cost: $200 for the course. When: Courses are conducted all year round, and are scheduled based on interest. Once you have completed the learn to row, you may apply to become a Financial Member of APSM on a year to year basis. Included in your membership fee is access to the development squad and free coaching. Volunteering: We expect all members to contribute 26 hours per year. A volunteering roster is available from the Volunteering Sub Committee. There are 4 working bees per year which which all members are expected to attend. What to wear:
